night

First night out at Forum

The whole floor, minus Amy and Ellinor, went to Forum. We played Kings in Amy's room before we left. Me and Jami got a bottle of "Frosty Jacks." It is a cider, it tastes good at first but then starts to get worse. It's what everyone drinks because it's so cheap. The club was so much fun, we didn't know all of the music, but we still danced along anyways. Everyone stayed together and just danced the whole night. We then went to McDonalds downtown where everyone ate.

Beeston

Jami and I walked into Beeston, which is the next town over. We had to go to Tesco to pick up toiletries  tea and a mug for our tea! Tesco is a mix between Walmart and Rite Aid.

Postcards
Got postcards at the Beeston Post office to send to the people I love! <3
postcards were 25 p and postage was 87 p

The Royal Mail Box

Cluedo
Good game of Cluedo while enjoying a cup of tea.
Cluedo: exactly the same game as Clue, Cluedo is the British version  which came first and America changed the name to Clue.

Movies

The next day Amy, Jami and I went to the movies in Lenton to see, I Give it a Year. It was a British film so I was excited to get some of the references that I would not have gotten a few weeks prior such as, fried egg candies.

Valentine's Day with the girls<3

We made a couch out of Amy and Jami's beds and snuggled up to watch Brokeback Mountain.

Enjoying a glass of wine and chocolates with my Valentine's.

ops I split the wine!

Salad Bowl Saturdays!

harlem shakeWicked fun game that Jami made us play. Everyone writes down something random and the first round you can explain the word by using any words except ones on the piece of paper. The second round you have to explain it using one word, and the third round you have to act it out. We played with Alex, Amy, her boyfriend Sam, Max, and Ellinor.

The Britt Awards
Feeling like a real Brit and streaming the award show live, with British advertisements and all!
Everyone thinks it's crazy how many advertisements that we have, they have like 2 or 3 per commercial breaks and there are barely any breaks.

What! It snows here!?

Good thing this was all gone by morning.

Shopping
Went shopping in town today, I love the store Primemart, everything is pretty cheap and it is right in the middle of Victoria Center. I got a pair of black sneakers for backpacking for 6 pounds. I was surprised there wasn't a lot of American stores. The only chain fast food restaurant I've seen that is the same is McDonald's and the only store, H+M, which is a British store anyways.
I'm starting to get used to the bus system.

Rugby
We go to the Rose n Crow to watch ruby on the weekends. The first time we went Dan, Alex, and Jess had to explain the game to Jami and I because we had never even see a match before. People seem to hate "football" because it is over rated which i did not expect at all! Everyone seems to like Rugby more, well mostly out of my group of friends. However, there is a soccer field right across the street from Sherwood and there is always a group of guys playing a game. There seems to be a big intramural program. The reason Rugby is so big at the moment is because it's the six nations tournament. Six nations including, England, Ireland, Wales, France, Scotland, and Italy. The first game England won against Ireland, the second match England won against France. There is a big screen in the pub and people just come there to get a drink and watch the game. At the beginning everyone sang along to the national anthem which gave off a huge feeling of nation pride.

Fish n Chips!

After the England vs. France match we grabbed fish n chips from the Chip Box in Lenton because we missed tea to watch the game. Jami and I were going to order fish n chips at the pub, but Dan said that was not real English fish n chips so we waited until after the game to get the real stuff. We got it to go and ate it on the way back so we could enjoy it while it was still warm! it came in a box with a fork which was a small Popsicle stick with one end which had jagged edges.

Studying in Sherwood Library
What I actually have to do work here?

A Day in Town
Had the best day in Nottingham thus far with Amy, Elinor, and Jami.
We all had lunch together at Rutland, along with Max and headed into town. We ventured in to all of the unique shops and side streets. Max was not too pleased about shopping and because it made him look like our gay best friend. He then left us and headed to the train station because he was on his way to Sheffield for the weekend to visit his friends.

We then continued onward to get make overs at the body shop, which is similar to Bath and BodyWorks. I got my first smokey eye, which you can kind of see in the pictures. We stumbled upon this adorable tea shop and had to go in. It was filled with mismatching tea sets and was only big enough for five tables. I got a white mocha which came with a small tea cake. It was 2.60 pounds.

We then went to Primemark again, which is my new favorite store because it is so cheap. I got an Amsterdam t-shirt for 3 pounds and some white socks because I want them to wear with sneakers when I wear shorts or dresses so they aren't funky colors. I also experienced poundland for the first  time, which is obviously like a dollar store.

RUGBY!

We got to play Rugby in the middle of the City Center. We played in a blow up area with artificial turf. I was so glad that I saw a few Rugby games prior to this so I knew kind of how to play. We played a basic touch version of the game with 5 people on each team; Amy and I were on a team and on the opposite side was Jami and Ellinor. The guys were extremely nice and fun. I had a blast.
